Norway
– A scandal is currently unfolding in Norway involving Marius Borg Høiby, the 28-year-old son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit. Høiby, while not holding a royal title himself, is facing a staggering 32 charges, including four counts of rape, domestic abuse, and multiple instances of violence. While he has grown up within the periphery of the Norwegian royal family, he is not in the line of succession.

According to reports from Norwegian prosecutors, the charges against Høiby are deeply concerning. The four rape charges involve four different women, with allegations that in at least three instances, the assaults occurred while the victims were asleep, following prior consensual sexual activity.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, Høiby is also accused of domestic abuse against his former partner, reality TV personality Nora Haukland. Prosecutors have stated that their investigation has yielded photographic and video evidence that supports the extensive list of charges.

While Høiby has reportedly denied the most serious accusations, such as rape and domestic violence, his legal representation has indicated that he intends to plead guilty to some lesser charges, including assault and vandalism related to a separate incident.

The Norwegian Royal Palace has maintained a reserved stance on the matter.
